Some Gen LV vs Rep Noob for comparison

The Noob is still the best out there.

The front appearance is almost perfect. However the crown is always too big, even this replacement crown.

Much better than the original crown though... which is totally ridiculous.

Thanks, great comparison shots.

Ah... for some reason it doesn't look so huge in your pic. I thought it was a replacement.

Yep, the "ring" as you say... or "front cylindrical rehaut" is very important detail, and only the reps from this factory (Noobmariner, GMT & Explorer II) have it done correctly. No other Rolex reps (except the WM9) come even close to the right look.

That is much more important than the actual rehaut depth to me.

no kidding here.. but even the rehaut depth unless u have it side by side.. its very hard to tell (especially in real life where u stare at it from a distance).. but the bezel is thicker on the gen correct? :)

Correct! it sticks out ever so slightly more.

Hence the reason why aftermarket bezels need some sanding.

But i heard from some gen rollie forums that even thte bezel between the LV and regular sub differs in size slightly... dunno if that guy who stated that is true cuz i've seen some LVs with gen black inserts.

Hi guys,

i managed to get hold of a gen LV dial for my sub project and if anyone is going to get close enough to call your watch out on the rehaut the dial will give it away first.

The font on the gen dial is far sharper and the black paint more glossy but the biggest giveaway is the lume. Is has a texture and eveness that even the best reps cannot replicate and of course it glows like a cats eye even in low light.

The dial on my Josh "perfect" sub is one of the best i've seen on a rep but looks crap compared to the gen. But of course its a fraction of the price so not surprising really...

thanks for looking, gen dial is on the left

hey have you also noticed that the fonts on the gen are raised more? They do a nice job baking the fonts onto the dial.
