Guest shura110 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Hi guys, I need your help. I am changing from standard 2836 movement in my PAM 063 to 2893-2 and I have ordered a DSN hands. Do I need a gloss black or matt black hands? Thank you for your help.
fat.tail.event Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Hi guys, I need your help. I am changing from standard 2836 movement in my PAM 063 to 2893-2 and I have ordered a DSN hands. Do I need a gloss black or matt black hands? Thank you for your help. Hi Shura, I dont do mods and am not looking at DSNs photobucket right now. But I do own a gen PAM63 and would say that by no means do the hands look 'glossy' or appear to have any shine to them. The matte black finish seems to be an accurate description. If DSN has pics, please send me your email address and I'll give you close ups of my gen to help you get the best match. Fat Tail
peepshow Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Not the best pic to judge from, but these sure look matte black to me. I've got a project like this in the works, too. Are you going to have to have the movement spacer modified to accomodate the 2893?
Guest shura110 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I hope I can just send it off to a mod guru and he will be able to do it. I was reading all it needs a DSN GMT hands to fit 2893-2.
peepshow Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 I hope so, too. I don't know if the 2893 will fit the 2836 movm't holder for certain, though. Crossing my fingers!
Guest shura110 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 The Zigmeister said it's a easy change. All one need is the new GMT hands, that I will order from DSN.
PAMman Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) Hands should be matt black and AFAIK this is a straight swap except for the GMT hand which is a different size. Edit - sorry I must have been typing while the above was posted. Edited March 16, 2008 by PAMman
