Watchmeister Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 I thought I would post a couple of watches as I am headed out of town for a few days R and R. This is the first - 24A with properly polished bezel, Ultimate crystal cyclops combo, revised datewheel, brilliant Ziggy tritium relume, Jimmy CG and gen crown on an OEM MX:
peepshow Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Hmmm, I'm really kicking around a similar project, Kruz. Minus the Jimmy CG, of course. Who polished the bezel or did you do it yourself? It looks fantastic!
sssurfer Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Awesome watch and bad pics, W! Off topic, but I hope you will see it here: Please check my last PM. I needed confirmation about your shipping address. Unfortunately I will now be able to ship only after March 24th.
peepshow Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 (edited) That settles that, then. Thanks, Kruz! Again, cracking looking watch, my friend. Edited March 16, 2008 by peepshow
rolli Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 welding-on in a big safe, this beauty will have a price advance rolli
V Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Although I am not a 24 fan this is a beautiful watch you have Warren.. and The Zigmeister did again its magic!!! Bad pics though
Watchmeister Posted March 17, 2008 Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 Yeah, I know the pics suck. And the really pathetic thing is I have this fancy Nikon SLR and I have no idea how to use it. I still haven't figured out how to focus it to get a wrist shot.
HauteHippie Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Is this cyclops from the new Chieftang run? Nope. They're supposed to be shipping to me today or tomorrow. PS - The watch is the bomb, W!
HauteHippie Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Yeah, I know the pics suck. And the really pathetic thing is I have this fancy Nikon SLR and I have no idea how to use it. I still haven't figured out how to focus it to get a wrist shot. If you don't yet have a macro lens (non-zoom), definitely get one. It'll have no problem focusing on your wrist from a short distance. Then you'll just need to hold the camera nice and steady with your other hand, or preferably get a tripod and cable release. You should also look into a light tent kit. Lighting is the biggest challenge, and you shots currently suffer from glare and excessive reflections. Something like EBay item #360032617981 would do the trick. That's a 32" softbox, though and you could get away with less.
Watchmeister Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Thanks for the tips guys. TK- As chief says it is not anyone's cyclops. I took the enhanced crystal/cyclops and improved datewheel from a 199. Everything else about that watch was not particularly good so I made the best of it.
