My current thoughts are (and I'd love your thoughts on these): 1. UPO -- how are these holding up? Do I need to get a gen tube? 2. Ingy AMG -- need lello DW of course 3. PAM 253 -- also needs DW 4. 2007 Cousteau 5. something else? Not a SFSO guy... just dont love it, and not a Rolex guy either...Any recco's here? Thanks for the opinions in advance! lanikai Posted March 24, 2008 Report Share Posted March 24, 2008 Are the logos still crooked on the orange UPOs? not all the collectors had that problem .. but regardless it has been corrected.... good mod would be to replace the rep dial with a genuine from Ofrei.. plus the tube and crown.. get the crystal D-AR and your gtg..... genuine dial a little over 200 usd tube and crown.. i think it was around 30 40 something.. maybe a little more.. I forgotten the genuine crystal is 169.00 usd but chieftang or jakub can do the same.. hands if you can get them re-lumed to match the dial is no difference from genuine.. or the genuine is low cost at.. about 35 usd.. BTW, don't you have an IWC AMG TI on kevlar? Or is that Rolli? I saw it on a wrist check and it's what made me catch the bug again... too many great reps, too few ways to explain this to the wife! J Thanks for all the input, guys. BUT... I am still stuck. Narrowed it down to: 1. UPO -- with all the mods 2. Ingy AMG in TI on Kevlar So... which of these two would you choose? They both cost the same, but I think the UPO crystal, tube, crown, and gen dial mods will more than double the price. Question is, is it worth it? jmt Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 17, 2008 For what it's worth, I went for the Ingy AMG TI from Josh with double AR. First impressions-- very impressed... one of my best reps for sure. 1. AR is great. Not as good as Jakub's, but pretty darn good 2. Fit and finish is fantastic. But, texture a little different (more grainy) than the gen. 3. Red numerals are NOT as red as the gen. 4. Finish on the deployant and watch head is fantastic... deployant looks to have been in a tumbler... no tell-tale roughness in the tight spots. 5. Kevlar strap is first rate.
