Noobie question on first rep

Hi Guys,

I just bought Andrew's Chanel j12 in white with the high grade ceramic and Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement. The watch looks great, but I had to clean off some smudges and glue that was still attached to the ceramic. No big deal. The watch came with all the papers and box!

Now here is my question. I wound the watch when I first got it and started wearing it. It kept time perfect for the 2 days or so. After taking it off for most of the day on the third day, I put it on to go out and thought that my hand movements would recharge the movement or at least keep it going. To my suprise the movement stopped a couple of hours into the night. I had to wind it to get it going again and its been fine ever since.

So am I doing something wrong or is the watch faulty? Do I have to do some initial maintenance to the watch? I am not faulting Andrew because it may be user error. Just want to figure it out since I spent almost $500 on it.

It proberbly needs more movement than you are giving it to keep it fully wound, you should not realy wind that movement by hand, if so very gently, do a search and you will find out why, wear the watch for a 24 hour period and thewn take it off in the evening see how long the watch runs for with out ANY movement, the PR should be about 42 hours. if it is any less, try the next test, wear the the watch on a particualy active day (if you dont have active days then go and "rent Debie does Dallas" watch the film and then take off your watch and wait to see what the power reserve it, if it is batter then:-

a. you need a more active life style

b. You have an excuse to watch porn (it is not the same watching it with your partner unless they wear the watch)

PS this is advice for the male members, if you dont fall into that category please incert film and or other fitting activity to provide wrist movement such as tennis ect to avoid embarassment.

This is actually a huge problem that I have, because I have a job with extremely little mobility. On many days I am just forced to wear my tourbillon because anything else just won't hold power reserve as I sit on the computer or read.

I only really have a chance to wear my automatics when I'm going somewhere... which is about twice a week....
