boncovi Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I received it from one of our collectors, it was dead on arrival. I can see screws in it and it's definitely not working. What do you think happened? What should I do?
hyster Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Looks like a movement holding tab and screw has came adrift.
musicale Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Get in touch with the collector and find out what they would like you to do with it. It may be a simple fix, or the movement may have been damaged by the moving parts.
anton Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Movement clamp screw came loose; Check to see if there is something jamming the balance wheel from running. If you can do it yourself, it's a simple fix. If not, heed advice and check with the dealer.
boncovi Posted April 9, 2008 Author Report Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) Movement clamp screw came loose; Check to see if there is something jamming the balance wheel from running. If you can do it yourself, it's a simple fix. If not, heed advice and check with the dealer. If the "balance wheel" is the thin yellow wheel inside the lower part under the red stone, it runs freely. In my other watch, It moves very fast, like clockwise - counter clockwise, tick-tack. but in this defective one, it runs free when I flip the watch I can see it moving And, is it normal that the watch stops working when one of these clamp screws go off? because there's no movement in the watch Edited April 9, 2008 by boncovi
