Several years ago while on vacation in Miami there was a series of watch heists in the Miami Beach area. While I was there (5 days) there were three heists, the most notable at the Ball harbor Shops. If I recall correctly they made off with almost a million dollars in watches and diamonds. It was a similar m.o, they broke all the glass with hand held sledge hammers and were in and out really quickly. The other two robberies were in the down town area.

When I got home to San Diego, my phone was ringing off the hook because my father (FBI) was rather interested in how my vacation had been... In all honesty he never did reveal if he was being serious or not. And the fact that I bought my first house two months later didnt help the matter!
