Jimster Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Take a look at this seller in the UK: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZgallucm What's up with these prices? Do I smell smoke? Jim
LordRasta Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Definite hustle. And he's using gen pics.
giorgio Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Do I smell smoke? Definite hustle. And he's using gen pics. Either this is a hijacked ebay account, or 6 lucky people will benefit greatly from this.
paneristi_man Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Either this is a hijacked ebay account, or 6 lucky people will benefit greatly from this. what's the law in the UK for buying stolen goods through ebay perhaps unknowingly? anyone?
musicale Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Seller has listed serials. Whether they are real or not remains to be seen. Interesting that collection in person is not listed as an option.
jockl1978 Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Watch description is 1:1 copied of authenticwatches.com. Definitely some cracked ebay account!
#ars Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) That's big. Could be interesting. I think that bubble with blow up - latest after the first sell. Edited April 21, 2008 by #ars
abat Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Well either he is missing some digits off his buy it now prices or something is pretty much foul smelling.
iceberg1459 Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Do you remember there was a big theft in london( 700k+ gpb worth watches incl. a bling breitling), could be any connection to this, so hes trying to sell a stolen watch?
giorgio Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Could be, but I wouldn't take that chance.
abat Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 If they hadn't put those "buy it now" prices it wouldn't look half as suss.
#ars Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Do you remember there was a big theft in london( 700k+ gpb worth watches incl. a bling breitling), could be any connection to this, so hes trying to sell a stolen watch? Could be, but then that guy would be stupid like bread. You have to keep in mind, that the dealer, they've stolen the goods from, still have the serial numbers - 100 percent. And I read, that this guy stated the numbers in the auctions. And if even people from outside have made the connection between the theft and this offers - then the original owner is already on that thing, checking numbers and making contact with eBay and future buyers. Man I hope these are the stolen watches. Would be great if they catch that punk red-handed. Edited April 21, 2008 by #ars
abat Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 He now has no items for sale, so they either cancelled them or maybe someone took the buyouts.
#ars Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 I guess they've caught him. Or, he was smart enough to end the auctions before eBay could take notice.
