  1. Watch model isn't available any more. Mine was 21j. From Narikaa.
  2. For those who want the jpeg scan - just give me a PM
  3. Relax, things are already proceeding... just wait for the result!
  4. What an a...hole I have a high resolution scan (9000x8000 pix) of the one I got, but I didn
  5. Just wondering what is the oppinion on this watch from the hardcore paneristis? This "One time in the world watch" could also be phrased as: fake case/fake hands/cannibalised movement Although with his reputation he can pull off something like that, seems like a cool guy... But I am just playing the "advocatus diaboli". Would buy it at an instant if I had more playing money
  6. Just to ad on the bracelet confusion - genuine Rolex didn
  7. I also wanted to make a swiss ETA 3706 franken. Bought a gen IWC 3706 (just to get the extra old "T swiss T" dial and hands that came with it ) and also a rep 3706. But as said here before - had to realise the rep dial is about 1mm larger than the gen, so the gen wont fit into. This will require some sort of spacer ring to produce the conical rehaut of the gen. Sold the gen for a Tudor 79280 chrono - the "Poor Mans Daytona". But if someone is still looking for a new 3706 rep with the rare white subdial hands just mail me...
  8. Keep cool - we need these people who keep the economy rolling by buying worthless [censored] shoes for 1.6k$
  9. Already tried the search about past raffles but didn
  10. Baking was the second method, first i tried watercolors which didn
  11. So here is mine with dial and hands aged, on a historically correct swiss army 1950s backpack. Still not beat up enough, but will do that during my next deployment
  12. Narikaa has (at least had two month ago) an Explorer I with 21j Asian for the correct beat, lugholes and plexy. The lugholes are only drilled half ways from the outside though, I am going to change this the next week. For the dial ageing, I used the the oven method; 250 degrees celcius - the dial took only some minutes, the hands an eternity, seems they don
  13. I vote for real - the base of the hour hand is relatively "small", not like the SSD who has a hour hand base is diameter wise nearly twice as large as the minute hand above (in my opinion the biggest flaw in the SSD)
  14. Great watch! Me too, at first I thought I would never buy a Rolex due to the stereotypes you always encounter - watch constructed to simple, bracelet clumsy, only for show offs and pimps etc. After trying the first one (Noob LV) I got hooked and now two years passed and after 4 Rolex reps I am thinking about to buy a genuine... they are iconic!
  15. Ok, not so much response as for the Mark XVI but there is at least some interest. And Eddy also sold his Speedbirds, so I will continue with my project, we will see if I succeed...
  16. As the Mark XVI thread has reached 20 pages I wonder if there is an equal demand for a rep of one of the finest aviation watches - the IWC Mark XI with cal. 89 built for the RAF (British Royal Air Force) and others mainly during the 40s and 50s. As its only 36mm in diameter its rather small compared to the contemporary 45 to 50 diameter watches, but I expect the trend to bigger watches to fade in some years. For replication it should be "rather" easy, compared to the nowadays multi complication watches with ceramic case on double saphire AR and DLC coating on Titanium blabla... A simple, yet intriguing dial, nice case with fixed lugs, no crownguards, plexiglas and a low beat handwind should pose no problems - Eddie Plats has the Precista Speedbird, which is a nice hommage but not the real deal in the end. So whats your oppinion on this one? For those who don
  17. IMHO much nicer than the blue bond SMP, dial faithfull to the historic Seamasters. Not a fan of the leather, would prefer it on a Nato, or the bracelet. I am torn between this and a PO (gen).
  18. Gios tool will give you some nice marks on the caseback from slipping, I talk out of first hand experience . Unless you are a Pro, I wouldn
  19. It works as long as you are able to provide the original purchase bill to prove that you bought it inside your country when customs intercepts it. They won
  20. I recieved a Explorer 1 (1016) which has fake outer lugholes - I tried to push out the pins from the outside like a maniac, until I saw they don
  21. My opinion: - an AD has one aim - to get new customers and sell watches. He won
  22. Yes, and they do it by cutting your arm off behind the watch
  23. Same on the vintage market, the crazy price increases of 2007 and 2008 are gone (except some really hot models - 40
