Far East Disasters (a Thai Perspective)

Watching the unfolding carnage in China after the earthquake on TV, one off the Thais in the room said 'Tib-et'....'no' says I 'China', 'Yes Tib-et' was the reply. This went on for some time (those unfamiliar with these 'have I come from another planet' situations bear with me) only to be futher perplexing by the addition of 'Same, same Pa-mar (Burma /Myanmar)' !!!!

After much investigation.......the train of logic was this (in English):

Both China (in Tibet) and Myanmar have recently been killing and beating 'Phraa' (Buddhist monks), an act wholly abhorrant to Thais....and are quite simply picking up the inevitable (karmic) rewards for such acts !!!!!

Narikaa.. this logic is not uncommon, even in the West. I heard a local Catholic priest gave a sermon here some weeks after 9/11 arguing that the attack punished America for "starting all the wars". <_<
