Pix Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Well, I just decided to make a pause in buying reps to concentrate on mods. It seems that wish lasted less than a day. Hate it or love it, I'm sure Montblanc fans will react. After the Sport Chrono and Timewalker series (chrono or GMT), the rep manufacturers bring us the Star Chrono in special edition. Personally I'm still waiting for the "standard" Star Chrono, which I find less busy. Maybe it will follow ? However this one seems to be very accurate at a first glance. The bracelet and case are probably the Sport Chrono's ones. Is this a modofied 7750 or a configuration we already know ? The star insigna on the gen is surely a diamond And I take this opportunity to link to the newest Montblanc babe : hxxp://www.montblanc.fr/products/special_sihh_2008.php#A10000 It seems that more and more manufacturers go to "home-made" movements, which will definitely create a gap against rep manufacturers. A one pusher chrono
Corgi Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Mont Blanc is really obsessive with placing their snow cap logo everywhere. Guys. We get it.
Pix Posted May 16, 2008 Author Report Posted May 16, 2008 That's why I ave a preference for the standard Star Chrono. I find it more balanced... No decent rep though.
b16a2 Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks for pointing me in this direction Pix, missed this one somehow If you like the standard version, check out the IWC Portofino in black, that looks very similar!
Pix Posted May 18, 2008 Author Report Posted May 18, 2008 I'm now wondering about the modification of this movement...
omegaunit Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Looks like it is very well made. There is button for date on the rep next to the crown?
