People keep poking at the crystal to see if it is there and eventually get frustrated and then "craaaacckk"!!! haha oops! btw, this was taken about 6 inches away from a direct florescent bulb. Second. Use the correct die and Make sure your die is centered. Third take your time. And if at all uncomfortable take it to a professional. I had a die that was big enough but the crystal still didn't go in even so I tried to "correct" it by applying pressure to one side instead of doing the right thing, which would be to pop it back out and start again. Delrin would be nice, but the cheap one I have came with nylon dies and it's fine. Mine is just like EBay item number 350069110559. I can recommend it.
