eunomians
Nice stuff. I was at an AD today (went to peek at the all black IWC Pportuguese) and the repair guy and I were chatting about stuff. He told me that he had recently serviced a Seamaster rep but that the owner of the shop charged the customer "full price" or said that he was going to notify Bienne/local authorities once it was found out that the watch was a rep. Yikes. I high-tailed it outta there after that conversation!

seanf
Just to follow up on what TeeJay said-- I know it's been said many times on the Board, but it still gets my goat (metaphorically speaking that is. I don't really have a goat. And even if I did, I don't think I'd give up it for the sake of a metaphor. Sorry. I'm drifting) everytime I see one of these stories about ADs threatening to take away a rep. Without getting into how stupid it is for people to take a rep into an AD for servicing, it is NOT illegal to own or purchase a replica in the US. It is, however, illegal for an AD to threaten to impound or steal someone's rep. If an AD were to do this, they would be committing a crime. Pure and simple. crystalcranium
Here's a quick look inside my SMP Chrono : Zed Just agreed to buy one of these from a member to go with my genuine. The wife thinks I'm nuts buy a replica of a watch I already have but I'm loving the fact that I can post a side by side review in the future and keep my prized genuine in the garage under glass and wear the rep out and about. The inside looks great especially the decorated rotor and anti-magnetic cap.
