Manitou Posted June 30, 2008 Report Share Posted June 30, 2008 Hm odd. Don't get it. I've owned two gen PAM PVDs - 005A and B and neither were that shiny or that black. That was my thought as well, but this watch is for sale by a fairly prolific Paneristi for $12500 and is in 99%+ condition. He says it is the original PVD. Watchmeister Posted July 1, 2008 Report Share Posted July 1, 2008 I also would have guessed aftermarket PVD. Is there a caseback shot? I was considering doing it to a gen base. It is true that Panerai have used 2-3 different coatings and numerous sub-contractors over the years but that is the darkest, shiniest coating I have ever seen.
