Is the He valve slightly higher on the Gen SMP?

I have a 2531.80 I got on fleabay. The bottom of the helium valve is aligned with the 10 o'clock marker (ie not dead centred, leaning upwards).

Is this the way it is on the genuine article or is this a replica feature?

I believe thats how the gen is, I think the rep has it a few mm too low i.e. on the 10 but going more towards 9 than 11.

Indeed, on the gen, the HE valve is slightly above dead-center of the 10

Here you can see the bottom of the He valve is roughly in line with the 10 marker as you describe, so yes the one you have seen is probably a genuine. Only very few were released (a long time ago) with a well placed He valve.
