Polishing Advice

Has anyone had sucess polishing out small scratches in the center links of a rolex band, such as new GMT II Cermaic, or daytona, yachtmaster etc. I've tried to lightly use a cape cod, in fear it would dull the shiny center, but no luck.

Some experienced insight would be appreciated.

Tape off the brushed finish and then use your cape cod or dremel on the middle links. You can use firm pressure now since you have the other taped off.

As Lancelot suggested, mask off the brushed sections & use a dremel with green rouge. If you have never used a dremel or rouge before, I would suggest practicing on something else (even a food tin can would be good) before putting dremel to GMT.

Thanks guys. I will certainly practice on something first maybe even a spare link. I wasn't sure if a dremmel or device with high rpms' would take the shiney part and turn it brushed.

Very Important - Use the LOWEST RPM setting!!!!!!!!! High turns are likely to damage the metal. Low speed only!!!!! And use very gentle pressure...let the rouge do the work.

Good advice. FYI, some cape cod wrapped around a felt bob on the dremel works well, too. It's far less messy than green rouge and less aggressive as well.
