mas6002mi Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Received PO 45mm, replacement for a botched up watch the 1st time around. Probs: 1. the crown still does not screw-in completely. 2. date wheel sits way to left, a white line visible at rt edge. I am tired of sending the watch back and forth........ any suggestions on how to rectify these issues?? pics r hazy, but there is a definite eta stamp next to the balance wheel. where do I go from here Thx in advance.....
triplehd Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Is this your second time sending it back? I have read many posts where members had issues with their crowns not screwing down properly (hmmmm ). No, but seriously, I would definetely contact Silix once again and let them know about the new watch. Dealers are usually good at working with buyers (dont want to burn any bridges with anyone and wants repeats buyers).
andreww Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Firstly, like anything else, you get what you pay for. The Silix PO is not ETA, it is an Asian copy, and the datewheel seems to be white with a black sticker on it. They all have that white line on the side as thats where the sticker ends. As far as the crown goes, I would remove the crown and stem, the separate the crown from the stem. See if it screws down all the way. If so, simply shorten your stem a little and reassemble. My guess is that the stem is just a little too long.
mas6002mi Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 Thanks for the suggestions Andrew.
