Watchmeister Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Anyone have an opinion as to whether I could swap the movement on the 222 for the ETA 2892 with Soprad module? Do you think the power reserve sections and date locations match up on the dial with the original PAM PR? Also any way to switch running seconds to 9 versus 12?
dadog13 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 well that is an interesting question...i would like to know that too..the 222 is one of my fav pams...and the upgrade would be very nice if possible...with that mvt, the rep would be perfect!"
JWR Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 2892 is center seconds, soprad PR indicator is centered at 6... you'd have to modify the [censored] out of the movement... probably custom parts etc.

Watchmeister Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 I had assumed the gen PAM Power Reserves used a modified soprad movement. That is the type of spare part you might just be able to get. This could require some research. Okay movement experts, what do you think?
JWR Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 its a 7750 + some sort of PR module, don't know if its soprod or not. dubois-depraz?maybe? ive never seen one mounted off-center.
Watchmeister Posted July 8, 2006 Author Report Posted July 8, 2006 Jonathan - You're right. So much for that idea. Well, I wonder if I could transplant the PR gearing from the rep onto a 7750 or simply source the PR parts for a 7750 and swap the whole thing. Hope springs eternal.
Chronus Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Good luck.... 2892 is a centre seconds movement as Jonathan said... it would require heavy modification, and I would agree, a 7750 with a power reserve module is what you need.
