Mate...nice watch. Can you confirm what does the rotor @ the back say....Calibre 17 or Calibre 18?

Also, would suggest you edit your post and take out the part about selling the watch as the mods may not look too kindly upon it.

Cheers

I got it from Andrew. as i said from the beginning- there

was concern that the 18mm thickness is too much.

I'm thinking of returning it because By-Tor noted it looks like a clock!

besides the thickness ther's a big heavy quality that the actuall dimensions

don't convey. for ex.- i have a HB BB that is bigger but seems to 'wear ' smaller.

some people like hockey pucks- i'm too small for them.

i will try to get some better pix. i have a old 3 megapixal job

and i'm trying to learn this internet thing, sorry.

Hey NoelFleischer... how are you coming along with those photos? You're the rock star right now so we're all dyeing for you post some photos of that bad boy! How does the date wheel align... things like that?

Do you have a scanner? Perhaps you will have better luck scanning the watch by just laying it on a scanner bed...

Thanks!

I think the picture makes it look much bigger than it is.

Noel, it's a great looker and don't mind the size... lots of members like their watches big.

Its still big in real life, By-Tor. Here's another:

this hobby is killing me, now it looks like i gotta buy a better camera too.

any rep nikon's, jejeje

HAAAAAAAAAAA... I would like one of those Nikon's too... one like the Olympic guys use... but because it's a rep it would really only have a camera inside like your's Noel

Really like the gen and I m considering on getting the rep as soon as it`s "approved" by members here...

But, doesn`t this one look like has some flaws?? I.e. the screws towards the center of the watch on the chrono dials.. aren`t they missing or is it just the bad quality of the pic??

wow- my first 'first'.

i don't know why the pix always come out as the thumbnails. i have a long

way to go before the pix look like By-Tor's or the other guys that really know what they're doing with

photoshop.

btw- i spoke to Andrew about the sweep. its only a low beat 21K movement.

overall; aside from the sweep and the size it looks like a good rep. i once tried the gen and i

don't remember it feeling so big and heavy. therefore i don't think ths will end up being a "super rep"

The running seconds is not that smooth either. it is a

weird system- a rotating disk.

I think this watch uses the same 21K movement as the Tag Heuer SLR with running seconds at 3. My SLR does NOT have a smooth second hand and the constant second is NOT smooth either. The watch runs fine and I have not had any troubles but the sweeping (hand or constant seconds) is jerky.

i was just at tha AD today and had another look at

the gen Grand Carrera. the rep is thicker and seems to be abit heavier as well.

the second hand and stop watch sweep second hand are way smoother on the gen.

the small disk thing is not that noticeable however.the problem IMO is that extra 3mm height!

otherwise the face is very well done; the screws are there also next to the disks.

again the overall finish on the rep is very nice. Andrew said the secs@ 3 is what

required the slower mov't. it does seem to be keeping good time, maybe a hair slow-

but that can always be adjusted.
