mdredfox8 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Is this watch water resist for normal swimming? The spec on some homepages says 50m is that true? Or is the water resist ok from watch to watch? Need to know so I dont kill the watch...
andreww Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 The watch itself is waterproof, but make sure you tighten the caseback first. The one weak point of the UPO when it comes to swimming is that the insert and pearl are not securely fastened, and can easily fall off in waves, or as I found out, on extreme waterpark rides I'm gonna stick with my SFSO for extreme water from now on.
FxrAndy Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 I have swam with most of my reps, to be totaly sure get it checked by a watch smith but all i do is make sure the case back is in tight screw the crown down and pray!
OiRogers Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 My three PO's are water tight... 4th gen 42, UPO and UPO Lite have all proven to be fine swimmers... just had to tighten casebacks.
bong Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 (edited) I swim and dive with my Ruby UPO without any probs. Edited August 15, 2008 by bong
chubbchubb Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Because the single most important thing that separates reps (even high end ones) from gens is the total absence of QC, I would not take any rep into the water unless it has been checked first. Caseback has to be tightened, gaskets greased and crystal checked. Then - if all is ok - most (non chrono) sporty watches with screw on crowns (subs, PO, SFSO, PAMS) can be used for showering and swimming. Try
