The watch itself is waterproof, but make sure you tighten the caseback first. The one weak point of the UPO when it comes to swimming is that the insert and pearl are not securely fastened, and can easily fall off in waves, or as I found out, on extreme waterpark rides :(

I'm gonna stick with my SFSO for extreme water from now on.

Because the single most important thing that separates reps (even high end ones) from gens is the total absence of QC, I would not take any rep into the water unless it has been checked first. Caseback has to be tightened, gaskets greased and crystal checked. Then - if all is ok - most (non chrono) sporty watches with screw on crowns (subs, PO, SFSO, PAMS) can be used for showering and swimming.
