abat
I was in NYC last week on holiday, being a big Mets fan I managed to get to 4 games. At one of these games I managed to whack my gen speedy quite hard against the metal upright of a seat leaving a very ugly looking deep tramline type scratch in the hesalite. To say I was not amused is a little of an understatement. I'd heard great things about Polywatch so I decided to give it a go before going the AD and major expense route. ubiquitous
...I noticed something I haven't observed before. Right in the centre of the dome there is an etched omega symbol. Like this?
abat
Yes like that.
LordRasta
Interesting. Do all gen Omegas have this or just the older speedy's?
ubiquitous
The older, vintage Omegas have the crystals signed Omega. Not sure if this is across certain/all models or not.
Guest carlsbadrolex
When I had my mid 80's Speedy it in fact DID have the omega stamp on the crystal. It is directly over the canon pinion. I have looked at a couple more recent Speedy's that did not have this stamp.
abat
Mine is a "Moon to Mars" Speedy and it has one but it is really really hard to see. I have had it 6 months and never noticed, you have to catch the light just right to see it.
tmg
My 2000 Speedy Pro has the symbol on it too.
whitestripes
I think it's on all the hesalite (plastic...) crystals. My post 2000 speedy has it.
Fidestro
My new reduced has it as well, I like to hand mine to people and see if they notice it. Another neat trick is to use toothpaste to remove scratches from it if you were not inclined to purchase a special product.
the playful eyes
Thanks for the tip! My speedy's crystal is all scratched up!
nogaro
I think that it's only on hesalite crystal. My 3572 got it.
JBond
I think that it's only on hesalite crystal. My 3572 got it. I have a gen De Ville with hesalite crystal and I don't have the symbol... Maybe is just for speedmaster?
baltic
My 2006 3570 and 1969 145022-69 both have the logo on the crystals.
JBond
finally I found the logo on the hesalite!
