Scratched Gen Speedy, Polywatch and an observation

I was in NYC last week on holiday, being a big Mets fan I managed to get to 4 games. At one of these games I managed to whack my gen speedy quite hard against the metal upright of a seat leaving a very ugly looking deep tramline type scratch in the hesalite. To say I was not amused is a little of an understatement.

I'd heard great things about Polywatch so I decided to give it a go before going the AD and major expense route.

When I had my mid 80's Speedy it in fact DID have the omega stamp on the crystal. It is directly over the canon pinion.

I have looked at a couple more recent Speedy's that did not have this stamp.

Mine is a "Moon to Mars" Speedy and it has one but it is really really hard to see. I have had it 6 months and never noticed, you have to catch the light just right to see it.

My new reduced has it as well, I like to hand mine to people and see if they notice it.

Another neat trick is to use toothpaste to remove scratches from it if you were not inclined to purchase a special product.

I think that it's only on hesalite crystal. My 3572 got it.

I have a gen De Ville with hesalite crystal and I don't have the symbol... Maybe is just for speedmaster?
