Ive just placed a decent order with a supplier in China. Usually I pay him with Western Union which Ive never been happy with but he has registered with Moneybookers and Ive sent payment through them. Very easy and quick to register, verify bank accounts and credit cards. Very cheap to send money and its received instantly. I dont know how they handle problems but for payment to China it seems ideal. Its cost me £30 less to send the money than it would with WU.

Has anyone else used them. Am I being starry eyed because one deal has gone well. Will the bottom drop out of my world next time I use them.

I used Moneybookers a year ago to send the payment for one watch to Eddie, since his Paypal account had been suspended. So my experience is very limited, but I can say that Moneybookers was cheap and fast, no problem at all. ;)

The problems with Moneybookers are (1) limited cash upload, usually around $300 per month and (2) Moneybookers change your transaction to cash which means that you will receive a large cash transfer fee from you credit card.

2.5% for a credit card payment but I used a debit card which was free. So far no-ones had a bad experience so it seems a viable alternative to WU. Next question is the safety/scam protection aspect
