5512 Franken with gen 1570 for $1700 on CL

Here is something I dont see every day on Craigslist... A franken 5512 with gen 1570...

Given the current cost of a movement, this might no be too bad of a deal.

He also states he has a franken 1655 for $2100.

Actually the price isn't bad. But I think I'd have to do something with the dial- like get another one. still for maybe around $2K with a new dial, you could have a nice 5512. Oh, and then there's the bracelet...

I doubt that the dial would look that bad if all of that yellow crap was stripped off of it.

But I agree, that dial and the pearl are the week links in that one.

And I personally would wear that watch on a NATO.

OH, and the seller is willing to take offers. Dont ask me how I know this!

Oops, I didn't pay attention to the pearl, but you're right CBR, it sucks. Is that a Phong pearl, or NDT?
