Ultima Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Ordered mine from Andrew at Trusty on saturday and it was already delivered to France today ! 4 days, that is a great service. Andrew even gave me a spare strap. Watch looks great, I will take time to check it and take pics.
oberblender Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 Here's a video review posted by a dealer not well known on this site. Now I'm sold on the carbon fiber dial model. Although I love her accent (Hong Kong?) and her soothing voice with background music makes me feel like I was in a spa , I won't buy from her as dealers on this site have much better prices. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSqlLrBVgdM I love the way she says at the end "the biggest wrist watch I've seen" I hope it's a woman...
wiseman Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Since it seems to be an A7750 in the reps what is the power-reserve in the rep? I had one really bad Tag Heuer rep once that I bought from a friend which I gave back since it stopped working in the mornings after I had taken it off when I went to bed.... I really like the look of the U-boats so I really, really hope this isnt the case with these reps. Can anyone verify that the U-boatr 7750 movement is still running in the morning when you took it off when going to bed?
chico85 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Got mine today. I immediately changed the strap to a 5mm thick brown/green strap. Here's the U-Boat with new strap. In case image doesn't show up It looks really stealth and hefty. As far as the size goes, my wrist is 7" and I don't feel it's too big at all but this is the largest I'll go. Very happy with the U-Boat.
Toadtorrent Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 That's a big watch. Thanks for the review...good job!
chico85 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 That's a big watch. Thanks for the review...good job! It looks big from that angle because of its 5/8" thickness and macro setting on my camera. But as far as diameter goes, it's not ridiculously big. It has good coverage on my 7" wrist without being too overwhelming or looking like a manhole cover. Here's another pic. Sorry it's blurry
turboGUATE Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Don't worry about the power reserve on the Asian 7750 Wiseman, it usually lasts at least 42 hours. You have a safe bet depending on the dealer from which you order. Some of them take good QC and you might get a propper serviced movement. Ask for that. Cheers!
