athan
One more question my friend, if I may: Is the Molnija smaller in diameter than the eta 6497? Did you have to do any spacial adjustments?

Merlin
yes - the moli is about 2mm smaller in the diameter. So I got a custom made movement ring. note: this ring is for the mini-fiddy. I don't know if it would fit into a 47mm fiddy. you'd have to measure the inner diamter of the case yourself. rmcsherry
Amazing job. Do you mind me asking where you had the movement ring manufactured? I'm trying to get a couple made up for a different project, and am having a nightmare finding people to work on such small tasks!

Merlin
Excellent job! What about luminescence? Is it still shining after coffee ? yes - it's quite weak but it's still luminous Amazing job. Do you mind me asking where you had the movement ring manufactured? I'm trying to get a couple made up for a different project, and am having a nightmare finding people to work on such small tasks! it was manufactured by my brother - I can ask him, but I don't want to get him into trouble in his company. So there's a little chance... I'll try.

athan
The movement is a 3601 molnija from the 50s. Thats not 440 but (I think) two russian letters and "3" looks like "443". After some research I found that "443" is not referring to numbers but to the letters ЧЧЗ - the initials of the Чистопольский Часовой Завод which means "Chistopol Watch Factory". That was the initial name of the VOSTOK (Восток) factory from 1942 to 1964. http://www.p-maier-gmbh.de/Vostok/russian-...watchuseek.html Athan

Merlin
Excellent job! What about luminescence? Is it still shining after coffee ? Here is a "lume shot" of my baby. but the pic overdoes it a little bit. It lumes really weak and very short. for comparison I added a pic of a really good lumed watch.
