aceforever
Hey everyone, just introducing myself. Should have done this about a week ago or so but wanted to write something meaningful . Anyways, I must say that I want to thank the board admin and all the other posters for posting very helpful information. As a newbie, I would like to ask a simple question and your guidance is much appreciated. I personally like the watches with grand complications. One that comes to mind is: Audemars Piguet (Jules Audemars, Equation of Time, 2600030R and 26003BA to be specific). Now I do agree that these watches in reality are extremely expensive and as such I wanted to know if there are any replica's available. What I mean by that is, I am really like the way they look. So it's not a big deal if it is not a similar looking replica and doesn't have to be Audemars Piguet. I just like they way those Grand Complication watches look. So do they makes grand complication watch replicas that look such? If not, can you guide on any other watch or watches (may not be replica, something you can buy at a local store) that looks similar. I apologize about the completely newbiew question, but any guidance is much appreciate. Thanks everyone Ace P.S: If are have a watch similar to what I am looking for, I am certainly willing to buy immediately. Thanks
cornerstone
Welcome Ace!! I think there's a Patek-Philippe Sky-Moon Tourbillon out there that may fit the bill for you perhaps. This is Corgi's pic of his:
Toadtorrent
Remember...grand complication type watches like these...will not perform or operate the same as a gen. Reps are based on only a handful of base movements which means they are not making specialized movements for each rep. There are "rep" tourbillon movements, which are really not copies of specific tourby's per se, but are genuine tourby movements in their own right, designed with borrowing heavily from the gen ones, but not intended to take gen parts or to be a copy of a particular movement. These are beautiful watches...and expensive. If you are looking for a perpetual calendar, minute repeater, working moon phase, etc...you can get watches that "look" the part, but those function will not operate like the gen. They are still beautiful looking watches like the Sky Moon above.
