fotoman
So, i ran across this new to me brand called Cuervo Y Sobrinos The brand is old, 1880's and in cuba's hayday was an actual cuban made brand. Cuervo Y Sobrinos was a store that sold all the high end brands patek ect ect. Then they started procuring custom pieces to be sold under their brand. When castro came in, the whole thing fell apart. - At some point the brand was moved to attain the Swiss Made branding. This particular model was 3k ish It looks very cool - has like a pinstripe sort of look - very good - cigar smoking design the case is really awesome, this doesn't do it justice, its a very comfortable, sophisticated design. cmon - this can't be hard to rep movement is pretty basic Of course the 3d design of the dial, looks really cool too ok, lets hear the masses - Rep this baby we can all own a cuban - ok, it will be fake - but so are 90% of the cigars people buy labeled as cuban

Although my wife is cuban so, as soon as it opens up, we'll be going to check it out, see where her family lived ect ect. I forgot to mention - This watch comes in a Humidor - like a real working humidor with dials and everything. so you can use it as a watch box - or pop out the insert and use it as a humidor. the box is Very nice, large 1 ft square wood box. I also read that this was 1 of 199 pieces, don't know if thats 199/ yr or total. there are only a handful of models on their website
lanikai
What's interesting is that everything that was done (even today) is centered around the Cigar industry .. Hupmann the original name for the Family that started the H. Upmann Brand of cigars were bankers and history notes that a banker started putting bands on cigars to advertise their bank .. then later the Menendez family took control of the brand and started the Montecristo line.. I jus wonder who bankrolled the funds for these.. interesting to find out..

Rxus
The watch is classy I like it. It's a shame Cuba turned out the way it did, soo much potential...But maybe were heading down the same path with our new Socialist/terrorist-friendly president. Oh yeah and I noticed that the word "habana" on the dial is incorrectly spelled, the correct way is with a "v" seems odd.

snoxx
Yeah, quite a nice brand. I ve seen it at a high end watch store being sold side by side with Hublot and Bell & Ross, as well as other unique brands. they have some very nice designs even on the round case models. Rep makers should have a look into this... the name is very cool!
TeeJay
Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread till now. That is such an elegant but laid back watch. It makes me think of a rich man reading an old, leather-bound book on a porch with a beer and cigar in battered jeans and white shirt. It looks like it should cost a million bucks, but doesn't take itself too seriously
Bizzon
I've been looking for reps of the this brand for a while......no dice. My personal favorite is the Torpedo Pulsometro model (round case). If you find them some good reps..... Let me know!!
