+1 on this, RWG legend CBR has some wristshots of his little man sporting one and it looks great.

I know it's a fantasy watch, and who would give a little kid a Rolex anyway, but I still think it's cool.

Reps don't make very good heirlooms, so my only other suggestion would be something sporty, quartz, and not too pricey in the gen version. Maybe a Tag Professional Sports.
