I have been unable to find the dimensions of the Omega 1128 - From my understanding the 1128 is based on the 2892 and so is the 2893
Trying to figure out if the two are interchangeable
Thanks
Trying to get ahold of him in regards to a purchase I made from him sometime back. So far PM and email attempts have failed to ellict a response from him over the past 3 weeks
Maybe I have a bad email.... I would think PM's would be pretty fool proof
So if I wanted to build a franken Omega 2534.50 (GMT) using as many gen pieces as possible and using an ETA 2893-2 movement which/whose rep would be a good starting point.
It is my understanding the 2534.50 uses the Omega 1128 Caliber which is basically the 2893.
The guy I use charges $180 for cleaning and oiling. Turns the watch around in week. So far I have not had to replace anything in my 16800 but that is about to change as the date change spring is getting week so the next time it is in for service I will have him take care of that as well.
He works on any swiss watch
I need to purchase the 24 hr - hour wheel for a 2893-2 movement. I have had zero luck in finding one. Anyone have any tips on companies that have them.
Here are the two parts I need
31.047.00 Hour wheel 24 hrs
80.295.00 Friction washer
thanks
yep that was my purchase - [censored] poor packing but seems to be ok. have not cased it yet though.
Original price was $350 and he lowered it to $290 or something like that and I offered $250 via message so he lowered it and I purchased. The week prior I missed one that sold for $152.50
Oh the guy did ship fast. Had it in my hands two days after I paid
I could never find a suitable hands or dials for the one i had and was not overly happy with it. would be interested in see what is available hand wise
Just sent the ebay guy an email asking if he could source cases for the ETA 2836 or 2893 - Will see what he says. Might be helpful if other people do the same if there is enough interest maybe he will make some available.
Thanks for the link
does anyone know a source other than ofrei.com to buy bare watch cases - i have a couple of movements that I want to put to use but do not have any cases.
The options I have are ofrei.com which I am not overly fond of either the cases they offer or sending him money and then one of the approved watch sellers here will sell a case but that takes 3 or 4 months to get what you want it seems.
ideas - thanks
when i got my sub in 1986 the daytona that i was looking at was $1130 and they where willing to give a 10% discount if I paid cash if i remember correctly
i have ordered from them numerous times and they have always shipped quickly and promptly
though they did send me the wrong item once and i was never able to get them to send me the correct item - hell no response to emails or phone calls
as a total aside where is a good source to buy watch cases to build your own (not looking to make reps) but something of my own.
the only place i have seen is ofrei and I am not real fond of them.
