kornblomst
Hi again... So I've been trying to figure this out for a while but I'm still not closer to an answer. I have read a lot of posts where new crowns have been "installed" and CG mods so that it will sit closer to case. But with these mods, can the lever still be fully functional, as that must be dependant on the sizes of either the CG "gap" or the crown's "thickness". I've yet to purchase a Pam, still thinking about which would be the best for me. /Korn - who's starting to become obsessed with pams
Rocketeer
You're dead right. Even tightening a sloppy pin can make the lever cam tight to close. Start removing metal to get a better fit between the case and guard and you will almost certainly need to adjust the action of the lever. Easy to do though by subtly reshaping the cam part of the lever that presses on the crown.

Use a dremel to "shave" something off the lever to make fit again? /Korn
Rocketeer
Depends on the amount you need to remove, it's usually not much. A fine needle file followed by a couple of grades of 3M abrasive paper usually does the trick.
mjmurphy926
I usually use a flat mill file.
FxrAndy
I use a file and a vice, go slowly and refit to check regularly, it does not normaly take that much!
kornblomst
I think I'll have a go at a pam from TT or puretime then...I was keen on the DSN's for a long time but I do prefer a A7750 28.8k bph movement. Thanks guys...I don't think I'll rushing in to "file-fit" the Guard yet, but with time I might. /Korn

DSN, according to his page, has a7750 b1 movement, which was the generation prior to the A7750 28.8k bph - well according to The Zigmeister's review. Has that changed? blue_sphere
The dealers are always a little "sketch" on movements. Make sure their A7750 is what you think it is!
