If you see Kay Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I've been looking high and low for this rep on all the trusted dealers collections and cannot find this one. I know that Calatravas have gotten a bad rap for reps, but this one should be easy to rep. I think. The closest I've seen is the 3919, but that has a separate dial at the 6 for the seconds. The Roman numerals are a bit too thin too. TT has it but I would only "settle" for it. take a look at the gen. 3520/5120 Very simple. If anyone knows a dealer who has this rep. let me know.
ironmarshal Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I'm with you on this one. I've been looking for one for about two years. Look at all of the uber complicated super reps they can come out with, but they can't rep this elegant, relatively simple design properly? All in all we need more super reps of dress watches.
alt.watch.obsessive Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 The current 3919 rep is actually a farily good rep of the new version 5119. Other than the backside of course :-).

Other than the backside of course :-). Actually, you are right there. !!!! The 3919 rep has the Roman numerals too narrow for a gen 3919 match. The gen 5119 seems to "relicate" the 3919 rep. more acurately:p gen. 5119: rep. 3919 (more closely matches the gen 5119) except for case back, as mentioned already: The case diameter is 3mm off though..... Thanks for this info. Put the 3919 back on a shortlist for me. Edited January 20, 2009 by If you see Kay
Corgi Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 They could even make this a quartz and nobody would call it out because there's no running seconds. Ahh those Asian rep manufacturers... so many missed opportunities..

Bossart Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Had a trawl round those Dealers I know, but could not come up with that particular model. I have a model (with seconds @6) which I though at one time had numerals that were too elongated and thin - UNTIL I saw a new genuine model 2 weeks ago in Glasgow - the numerals were exactly the same! Seems to be that there are an awful lot of versions of the Calatrava around. These here are genuine - And this is mine (2 pics) - with alternative strap/bracelet - I wish you luck.
If you see Kay Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 I have never seen a Calatrava rep (or gen) with the seconds dial at six inset like yours.
