adrenalin Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Greetings all, I was in process of doing a movement swap on a noobmariner for a DG4813. All was going well until my young daughter reqired my attention at an inopertune time. Long story short, the small spring required for the date wheel change managed to disapear into the triangle... Any ideas of how to fabricate one? Does anybody have an extra I could buy? Or a part number to order? Thanks for any input.... (Its that little spring in the jaws of the tweezer) Spring.bmp -K
adrenalin Posted January 25, 2009 Author Report Posted January 25, 2009 Sorry for the bitmap image... this is a repost from the Rolex area via cut-and-paste.. -K
DemonSlayer Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Parts for these are practically impossible to source, its not worth supplier's time as the movements cost about $20. I have a couple of dissected asian movements. I'm not sure if they still have those springs (I remember losing one too) but I'll have a look. Theres no guarantee it will fit though.
involt Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) ... Any ideas of how to fabricate one? The only idea that occurs to me is a 0.08 E guitar string. But you need to know the exact size of the spring in order to cut a correct size piece, and the exact angle to bend it. Hope it helps... Edited January 25, 2009 by involt
Rolexman Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 FxrAndy is sending me a dead DG2813 as I also need a part of that movement (not the spring you're talking about). If the movement I receive includes that spring I will send it to you, no problem. Will let you know as soon as the movement has arrived.
FxrAndy Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 The one i am sending does not have the date modual on it but if i have the spring at home i will let you know Wont be untill tomorrow night when i get home though
McRae Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 I got one, send me an PM with your adress.
adrenalin Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks guys for all the input! A special 'Thanks!' to McRae too! I did like the suggestion of the guitar wire. I might just have to try that for future reference.... You guys are great! -K
