seventhexile Posted January 28, 2009 Report Share Posted January 28, 2009 Note some of these watches have mods to them such as recessed insert, shaved cg's, gen crowns and wm pearls. - These are all relatively cheap mods / easy mods. Please pay more attention of the crystal height, case, bezel, dial and so on then the mods. Noob Movement: a21j Dial: Very good, noob dial Date mag: 2.4 Price = $70 - 110 Date mag is to low, 2.4 mag. Date Font is good, but again the magnification is to low. Dial is a noob dial, so its very accurate ! Bezel is pretty well cut, teeth are a little to high, but honestly who's really guna notice. Crystal is pretty low, unlike gen - this is a easy give away and a very hard thing to fix on a noob. Still... a great watch over all ! I can't say enough about an a21j noob sub ! Bkmariner (Note: the only watch listed here that comes w/ mods done to it, such as recessed insert and shaved cg's) Movement: Swiss Eta Dial: Very good, noob dial Date mag: 2.4 Price = $350 Dial is good - noob dial used again (same as watch above) Another shot of the dial Date font is good, but mag is off again. - Same case as the noob sub so its to be expected. crystal height is the same as noob sub, so still lower then gen. Bezel teeth are higher then gen, same as noob sub post above - same case. Its a noob sub w/ eta movement and mods by BK... beautiful watch, still some flaws though. Eurotimez - TT, wrapped gold = (Same case as wm9) Movement: Swiss Eta Dial: Very good, noob dial Date mag: 2.7 Price = $375 Date font is good, date magnification is .1 more the it should be - but still good Another shot of the date mag. Crystal height is good - much higher then noob cases. Another example of crystal being higher Bezel teeth are cut more centered like gen. Dial is noob dial, so very good detail to it. Mbk - M series - Gen bezel assembly (being sold by Eurotimez and wm9) Movement: Swiss Eta Dial: Very good, noob dial Date mag: 2.6 Price = $450 - 550 Engraving is actually centered correctly ! Another shot of engraving Crystal height is just like gen ! Crystal height again Another example of Crystal height Gen bezel assembly Dial = noob dial, very accurate. Date mag 2.6 Finally someone got it right ! Correct date font/ mag. - RolexRolexRolex engraving centered correctly ! Twb Movement: Swiss Eta Dial: Average, unknown dial Date mag: 2.6 Price = $250 - 300 Date font / mag is good - 2.6 magnification. Unsatisfactory dial ! - its crap ! - must change out w/ noob dial. Another shot of crap dial. Good crystal height, not as good as MBK-m series, but much better then noob subs. again crystal height - Not a bad watch to mod into a beauty ! but does need mods like new dial and cg's. (as do most other watches anyways) Hope this helps you get a visual idea of some of the differences between models and why the price varies so much. Please add your own info also ! This has been discussed before. Seven thank you for posting but you have a few errors in your post. BKs new watch is just wm9's watch with mods, the absolute best BY FAR on the market right now. Honestly I think there should be two choices made apparent to newbies. Noob or WM9 from BK. You are either going for a good cheap rep, or an expensive one that is spot on. I thought Tribal and a few others .. including Chris @ Eurotimez - decided upon these being from the same factory. Actually.. Chris claims his euro's M serial - w/ gen bezel assembly is the same as the wm9.. Could you send me a link so I can read up and learn Thank you ! I got my source about them being the same from Chris @ Eurotimez, and Tribal's review Tribal: "I compared it to WM9 and it's all the same.... As Blue says, there are really two choices only right now: cheap = Noob (a gen Noob!) and less cheap = Bklm1234 WM9's V2. Putting a Sub guide toghether was my dream too but the subs are changing so fast that there isn't really a permanent answer to the "Who's got the best sub" question What Tribal said was correct...at that time though. Now, note that Cats recently experienced a fake MBW/MBK with a dealer... Tribal Posted January 28, 2009 Report Share Posted January 28, 2009 First Datefont on the Noob,MBK etc. is completly wrong Datenumbers are too big and wrong shape... Also the Datewindow has slightly wrong shape on the Noob Dial... this makes a huge effect in magnifiaction.. When you look ate a gen one there you can see much more of the white area of the date wheel... Also the Crystal is not really much high on a gen one...
