freddy333 Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 A good rule of thumb for ebay buyers - Honest sellers provide good, clear macro pics of their watch. Dishonest sellers provide excuses ('new/cheap camera', 'wife's/friend's camera', 'not a good photographer', etc) for their distant, dark or (purposely) defocused pics.
FxrAndy Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 One look at the strap endlinks and i reported it
One4adventure Posted February 8, 2009 Author Report Posted February 8, 2009 One look at the strap endlinks and i reported it And its gone!
FxrAndy Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 That was quick, some times the biggest scam sits there when we have all reported it and nothing happens
jmayfair Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 A good rule of thumb for me on eBay auctions, aside from the macro pictures, is when they actually remove the caseback and photograph the movement. I usually won't ever consider an auction unless they do so.
josechano79 Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Thats why you should belong to a forum like this before you spend your money
freddy333 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 A good rule of thumb for me on eBay auctions, aside from the macro pictures, is when they actually remove the caseback and photograph the movement. I usually won't ever consider an auction unless they do so. Good point, but alot of gen owners have neither the proper knowledge nor tools to remove a caseback. So I do not think you can use lack of movement pics as a guide to a watch's legitimacy or not.
