Replacing bracelet with a strap - a question

Recommended Posts

I have a watch that I got recently, not a rep, just a cheap little automatic. I got it with the specific purpose of replacing the bracelet with a strap, but I seem to be having difficulties. There doesn't appear to be enough room between the bring bat holes, and the case. Is there any trick i can use to fit a strap in there, i.e. find a REALLY thin strap, or is there suck a thing as a curved springbar?

Thanks!

WR

Watchmakers have a tool that will put a slight bend in a springbar for such instances. Thin watch straps have not been in fashion for many years (at least since the fad of the Big Watch began in the late 90s), but some can still be found. Check some watchmakers or some of the stores in shopping malls that sell cheap watches & watch batteries as they often have a good selection.
