chin-up-27
Hey there, first post! Yup, i've caught the bug as such, got looking on the web for a rep watch a couple of weeks ago, and very neally got taken in by a scam site but thankfully found the right information to avoid that happening. Now know enough about the topic to know the good sites etc, was wondering if anyone had pictures of the Submariner 16610LV SS Green 50th Anniversary AKA noobmariner, I found this on the Eurotimez website last night but noticed there is no photos up yet of it. Is it essentially the same as the other model for the same price, the black bezel one, except with the green bezel? The main decision of course is whether to spend the extra $130USD on an "ETA" movement, bear in mind this is my first Rep purchase. Opinions? FWIW, in m country I have never ever seen anyone wear any kind of rolex, and the best watch ive ever seen anyone wear is a seamaster, on about 3 people. So im not so concerned if the rep isnt perfect (which I know enough to know it wont be).
alligoat
The noobmariner is a good watch, but it has been superceded in terms of accuracy by the Euromariner and the WM9v.2. Keep looking and see if WM9 or Eurotimez has the SubLV- it's a little more expensive but more accurate.
CharlieUK
Not only is the bezel different, but the dial and the minute hand as well. The hour markers on the dial are much bigger and the minute hand is wider. Often referred to as the maxi dial and hand. For your first rep, I would suggest the 21j would be fine. If you find you really like reps, and you would see the value in a "nicer" movement, you can always buy the eta version and sell the 21j. (they sell pretty quick on here!) You may find that the noobmariner exceeds all your expectations, and do not need a better rep. However, if you are noticing the flaws on it when compared to a gen, you can now compare it to the more expensive versions and see if those flaws are present or not. good luck
