HauteHippie Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 It is. I've got one in house for AR coating... owner scratched the original Omega coating.
its_urabus Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 chief's ar is better... get him to do your crystal...
andreww Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 Never understood what the advantage is in paying all that extra money. The rep crystal and a trip to see Chief is every bit as good. Provided you don't have one of those jinxed crystals

veja74 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 thats what im worried about. Already got one in with chief through the rocketer I don't know what the deal is with these rep UPO crystals. I have 2 of them that have been coated and re-coated and going in for the third try. I have been polishing mine for two days and have polished it a total of 4 times with an overnight soaking in acetone in between polishing. I even took a steel brush dremel die to it and I still have signs of the original coating. Chief is going to try a new polishing compound on this next run, hope it works. If this round doesn't fix the issue I will either strip the outer coating and go with single sided AR or buy gen. I can say that Chief has been wonderful to work with on this issue and has gone way above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks Chief!
