iflylow78 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 does anyone know a source other than ofrei.com to buy bare watch cases - i have a couple of movements that I want to put to use but do not have any cases. The options I have are ofrei.com which I am not overly fond of either the cases they offer or sending him money and then one of the approved watch sellers here will sell a case but that takes 3 or 4 months to get what you want it seems. ideas - thanks
spider87 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 I would also like to know this as I am currently in the process of getting a $20 movement shipped to me and pressing a dial to fit to the movement so I need a case to put it in but I don't want to spend more than like 20-30 bucks for the case... Is there anywhere you can buy a case for that kind of money? It doesn't have to look like gen anything just need a case that will fit the movement..
tokei Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 eBay is always a good start. As an example, here is a seller I recently ordered an A6497 from. His cases, though, are generally for 6497 or 6498... http://stores.ebay.com/Alpha-jewellery-time
iflylow78 Posted March 2, 2009 Author Report Posted March 2, 2009 Just sent the ebay guy an email asking if he could source cases for the ETA 2836 or 2893 - Will see what he says. Might be helpful if other people do the same if there is enough interest maybe he will make some available. Thanks for the link
tokei Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Do you have a good source for 2893-2? I would be most interested in this! Especially if price is reasonable...i've gotta GMT IIc project waiting for a 2893-2 transplant! Let me know...
iflylow78 Posted March 2, 2009 Author Report Posted March 2, 2009 No sorry - not a good source - I happened upon one for $270 so I snapped it up. Now trying to find a home for it.
