Mickey Padge
Just saw Mark has updated his range of Hublot's with a full gold, ceramic case/bezel version? Gold dial or carbon fiber... Have a peak here: http://www.timeshops.net/HB8743_-_Big_Bang...ph_2476-189.htm http://www.timeshops.net/HB8757_-_Big_Bang...ph_2477-097.htm Seems he has some variations on a Euro 2008 HBB too..... http://www.timeshops.net/HB9028_-_Big_Bang...ph_2496-546.htm Thought I should post, just in case peeps still like HBB reps
jfreeman420
What is the point of making a ceramic watch and plating it in gold? Or is the ceramic gold colored meaning the plating will never fade? If the latter is true, this could be a revelation for gold reps.
Mickey Padge
It is full ceramic, no plating, ceramic need not be just black
guanaco
Interesting. No fading then?
chubbchubb
The HBB never grew on me.... a phenomenon that's reinforced with every new model they throw on the market. How many color variations of the same design can you sell? I find that pretty boring.
Mickey Padge
Interesting. No fading then? I would imagine there would be no fading or scratching either I wonder if they will release a silver version? That would be sweet, you could have it bead blasted, considering you can take the HBB apart without touching the dial/crystal, it should be very doable..... Imagine an unscratchable, non fading matt finish gold or silver HBB!
geo1nah2a
I don't think You can bead blast ceramic. Well, You can, but I doubt You will get the matt finish As for these new cases, I am really intrigued to see one in person: An eternally polished and unscratched brushed finish sound very nice. That, along with the weight and temperature, will make this watch impossible to convince anybody that it is real Gold. Still, You can claim that this is a prototype ceramic Hublot So, who jumps in first? Nice reflection. Edited March 6, 2009 by geo1nah2a

guanaco
Did a little poking around, this might be the culprit: http://global.kyocera.com/news/2008/0713.html This could get interesting... I hope they start making TT reps with gold tone ceramic. Edited March 6, 2009 by guanaco
Mickey Padge
You can bead blast ceramic, I had a polished ceramic bezel and all the metal parts of a HBB treated, and everything ended up with a really nice matt finish I ended up selling the watch, due to the uncomfortable rubber strap..... Cheers!

I hope they start making TT reps with gold tone ceramic. That is a good read. I remember reading that in a tech feed. BTW Probably totally unrelated but interestingly, the name kyocera has come up in some previous hublot issues (bezels etc) Conspiracy theorists can have a ball at this http://www.hublot.com/hublot_prod/site/hub...hp?attachId=127 You can bead blast ceramic, I had a polished ceramic bezel and all the metal parts of a HBB treated, and everything ended up with a really nice matt finish I ended up selling the watch, due to the uncomfortable rubber strap..... Cheers! That is nice to know! I mean the bead blasting that works, not the uncomfortable strap that doesn't

I would be tempted if the ceramic was a silver/platinum colour, bead blasting that would look fantastic, full gold is a bit too full on for me
Chronus
the rose gold looks good though! the only full gold watch I have is the solid gold FM Casablanca... having said that, where I live, it's probably asking to get robbed...!
Mickey Padge
I think this watch with a black bezel and smooth strap is the one for me..... Strange thing is, I posted this a good few months ago, did anybody buy one yet?
Chronus
Yes that would be nice with a black bezel... I see Rolli is looking, he'll know about these things... I also wonder if anyone bought one.
