jman16
Hi all I am new to this forum and am just about to pull the trigger on a breitling from one of the forums uk based dealers.I just wanted to know how good the AR is on the skyland/chrono eve (ultimate versions).?also if was to accidently expose the watch to water (shower/bath) would they be ok? Thanks jman16
b16a2
The AR on the Ultimate V3 Chronomat, and the V2 Skyland is very good. I wouldn't take them anywhere near water without having them pressure tested. Having said that, if you got it wet whilst washing your hands you'd be very unlucky if this were to seep into the watch. Thanks jman16 It's a single layer coating of good quality. Less effective than the gen AR but more effective than typical rep AR. Avoid water. yodap
Yes, the AR compared to other reps is quite good, compared to chief's, it's a layer of a blue film... Mine is pressure tested to 50 ATM, suitable for surface swimming. get yours tested!
TenJed69
The AR coating is stunning when you get it. However, mine has worn off after many months - most likely from rubbing away fingerprints on the crystal with a cloth. It's still coated on the inside obviously, so it still looks better than, say, a Rolex (no AR at all) but not as good as when I got it/a gen. I had my rep pressure tested but it failed - ok for rain or in the shower the guy said, but don't try swimming with it. Some people get lucky and can go diving with theirs though, just luck of the draw. Edited April 6, 2009 by TenJed69

andreww
Get it pressure tested at a local watch repair shop. Do not have a dealer do it as they are just taking your money and doing nothing to the watch.
