TK471
I removed the crown and stem from the watch and want to install a new one. There's a little screw right by the stem that you have to unscrew to remove insert. I got the replacement in there but it didn't seem to go in all the way. I couldn't wind the watch or pull it out to set the time. Is there a trick to getting the new stem in there?
morlock
Did you totally unscrew the screw you mentioned ? Even if you did more that 1.5 or 2 turn, you could affect the keyless works. The problem you described looks like you have problem with that. To repair it or check it, you have to remove the hands and dial and re-assemble the keyless works. I don't know your skills, but you need medium to advance level to perform this, if not I strongly recommend to bring the watch to a trusty watchsmith. Also I guess the new stem has the same shape and size than the one you are replacing.
chris5264
when you removed it was it in the setting position or winding position? my guess is that your stem is too short,,,,,
