I mean, MBK/MBW pearls are made without any surrounding, which in my opinion is absolutely incorrect, but I was wondering if, in any period, Rolex did release such kind of pearls. Thanks in advance. But my question is if there is a gen pearl without any metal surrounding. Even the acrylic pearls had surroundings, so I was wondering why the hell did MBW made those awful bezel insert without any surrounding. Maybe they know something I don't know ? ubiquitous Posted May 30, 2009 Report Share Posted May 30, 2009 Elepaolo- The acrylic does not have a metal surrounding- It's an acrylic pearl; i.e. the entire pearl is a small plastic dome (when pressed out of the insert it looks like a small plastic mushroom) and there is no metal. rather, the center of the plastic is hollowed out from the back and the lume is applied and sealed. If they do not, then neither will the pearl. Not always, f333. If you have a 16660 or 16800 transitional matte, the dial will have non-surround markers with a metal surround pearl.
