Mickey Padge Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 Here is the same watch after a full service, and now on a strapluxe croc strap! Pictures, keep clicking to expand! While the rep strap is good, I really prefer this croc strap, it fits very well and makes the watch look much smarter... What do you guys think?
Chronus Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Very nice, now you have to tell me how much the strap costs
Mickey Padge Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 Very nice, now you have to tell me how much the strap costs New they cost $169 from here: http://strapluxe.com I got mine from a member sale though, only $100! Cheers!
rogerthat Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Wise move with the servicing, looks better on the black croc as well. Good pairing.
Mickey Padge Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 The AP was running fine before, but if any watch deserves a full service and graphite treatment, it's this one! I was worried the croc strap might be a bit too glossy, but when I paired them up, the result was good!
Logan Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 The build quality on this one is really first rate, one of the best rep so far in terms of build. The titanium also has something different, Its definitely Ti from the weight but mine is quite silver, not as grey as pure Ti, I suspect they have used a Ti alloy like 6al-4v or similar. I compared the colour to some high grade bolts made from 6al-4v ti alloy and it is a perfect match. Anyone have any thoughts on this? It sure doesn't have that same grey colour like any other Ti watch I have (gen or rep)
Chronus Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 MP, how does the pusher side view compare to the gen? I guess with the pushers being that size, the genuine didn't need to show that the crown was below the plane of the pushers, but I can't seem to find any pics saved of it.
jfreeman420 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Very nice. That strap definately works with the watch.
Mickey Padge Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 The crown is lower on the gen, but the rep makers have adjusted the crown guard/pushers well Genuine RBII: I actually think the rep crown position looks better!
Chronus Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Did you get all the screws threadlocked when you had it serviced?
Eraser Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Nice combo Mickey, did you get the strap from PT too?
Chronus Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Nice combo Mickey, did you get the strap from PT too? Look a few posts up, the strap is from Strapluxe.
Mickey Padge Posted June 30, 2009 Author Report Posted June 30, 2009 No I did not lock the screws, they don't have a tendency to strip and fall out, they are in there pretty tight Just over tighten them, as then they will strip and need threadlocker
