If you see Kay
which one would you get? Some models look pretty much the same, like the stick markers and the large 3,6,9 dials. Many even have the same dial colours too. which is the more collected line? Airkings, to me seem to be the junior Rolexes, or the runner up line of rollies, the Toyotas of the Lexus, the 1 series of the BMW's..... Is this a wrong impression i have of Airkings? chefcook
The Airkings and Oyster Perpetual (Ref. 116000) really is the runner up line. Nonetheless they are both wonderful watches. They are pure Rolex and have everything that makes Rolex: They are elegant and sporty at the same time, they are never too big and never too small, they are nearly unbreakable. The Airking 114200 measures 34mm, the Oyster Perpetual 36mm. Both are considerably cheaper than the Explorer and if I had to choose, I'd go for the Oyster Perpetual. The modern bracelet and clasp on the OP is a massive improvement over the hollow bracelet and the sheet metal clasp on the explorer plus I like the looks of the OP. The movement is the same for all three watches. If you are searching for a rep you unfortunately have only one solution: Explorer. Neither the Airking nor the OP are repped propperly. TeeJay
I guess the Explorer might have more noticeable dial indices, but other than that, they're pretty similar watches... No day, no date, just a bare-essentials time piece
JoJo35
Here's a couple OP's so you can get an idea of what is out there. The "affordable" rolex as new; however, these two have appreciated nicely over time
Slartibartfast
What a lovely pair! I really have come to appreciate these vintage uncluttered Rollies.
