Time loss on a A7750

Recommended Posts

Good day,

I just received a new watch with an A7750-28k movement. It loses averagely 5-7 min/day when not worn and 3-5 min/day when worn? Should I complain or is this realistically okay?

Thanks!

TFDM

That's outside normal limits. How long have you owned it. I've had a few "slow" ones get better after a few weeks, but this is pretty slow.

Should be no worse than 10-15 seconds a day.

You can always adjust it.

I have had it for 4 weeks! And now it started to slow down! I know you can adjust this, but that wouldbe my first time watch work and on a 400 USD watch I rather send it back!

Your watch needs regulation &/or cleaning (the movements in rep watches are either used or unserviced & generally require general servicing upon delivery).

The accuracy of mechanical watches is affected by both the environment & your watch wearing habits, which is why the watch's accuracy differs depending on whether it is worn or not.

If it is a watch you want to keep, I would consider having it serviced.

All reps are basically in need of servicing (sooner or later) as the QC and assembly conditions of the Asia movements are VERY different from gen manufacturers. Even if the replacement watch you get from your dealer is a little better in terms of keeping accurate time, it too will need servicing at one point to maintain reliability and performance.
