I was wondering if anyone has any tips on opening a case.

I have this 5517 Milsub that I just can't open.

I have tried a squash ball, a ball of sticky tape ( just leave sticky on everything) and even a pair of rubber gloves ( washing up gloves)

and nothing.

The case now seems to be smirking at me.

Short of using a claw hammer and going in the front I seem to be at a loss.

Any other hints?

ps. I don't want to have to buy a Bergeon 5537

Well, there are dearer options like a 5338-2F :p

Bob, unfortunately without the right tools, you will not get it open.

Best take it to a watchmaker, who has the right gear.

If you only want to open this particular watch, do as Offshore said, ask a (rep-friendly) watchmaker. If you plan on doing this more often, there are cheaper versions of specialized openers for Rolex available on the Bay. It does not have to be Bergeon, although their tools are worth every penny.
