  2. Hi new people .. if you want to learn more about reps, and see amazing examples of forum member's personal pieces, then never pick and choose specific forums to read! Look at the upper right corner of your screen, and select View New Posts .. from that screen you may select Show New Posts since my last visit or New Posts within the last 24 hours I have heard some newbs complain that there is not enough traffic on RWG to be interesting, but this board receives on average 120 new posts every day .. literally hours of reading. If you only read a few select forums, then you are missing the bulk of the interesting photos, tutorials, etc. What most people find is that if they use the New Posts function, they broaden their taste for watches and learn more, too. If you came here for a Rolex and never leave the Rolex area, then how will you ever know if there's a special brand/design out there that will knock you right out of your socks .. you won't know! What is this? Is it a spaceship made from delicious candy?! How will you ever know if you don't read forums outside of your current interests

  3. The top one looks better to me - most like my gen. And better than my V1 caseback looked, I think.

  6. Sorry...I'm always thinking about components and parts. Here is a watch that I purchased from Andrew (Trusty) a year ago. It has a vintage style dial and bracelet. It's the only quasi vintage style DJ I could find. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_12&products_id=854 Then I went on eBay and purchased a silver linen dial. I liked that so I went kinda crazy and sourced a vintage style jube bracelet and then a 18K white gold fluted gen bezel. I have too much in the watch, but I will always have it and then my son has his eye on it. Gen DJ crystal fit perfectly. Bezel fits perfectly. I need to change the crystal to sapphire but haven't. DJs are relatively easy to mod and come out with a nice watch.

  11. +1 This is an amazing write up and pictorial. It seems that each has its strengths and weaknesses. Now it's even harder to pick which to go with!

  12. Here is the review I did on RG and I might as well put it up here to --------------- I know You all seen picture of these two great reps, ToroBravo made a great side by side of them. But since I have them both I thought that I would compare the details that matter to me (and hopefully You) N = Noob (or AP ROO sec. @ 12 maker). H = Hublot maker AR: Both have great AR but I think the H have a little stronger AR. N have a slight blue hue to it when under a indoor light, the hue on the H is more colourless. Number cut-outs: The N seems to have slightly deeper numbers. Dial surface and printing: The N looks great under the sun! A more matte, slightly grey dial with structure and raised creamy printing. Lume: Both look great uncharged. The H have a little whiter uncharged lume while the N have a hint of grey. When charged under the sun for one minute both glows like crazy, but it looks like the N fades a little quicker. Crown: N have a thicker crown. Or maybe its not so bevelled. Crown guard: This was my main concern about the Noob. I love the H-factory CG. But after seeing a few CQ pics of different N 111 I found one that I’m really happy with. Maybe not as good fitting lever/body as the H but it’s a keeper. I was thinking to change the CG to a H but look at the pin for the rollerball on the Noob lever. Its almost invisible, and I think that’s just the way the looks like. (Experts correct me if I’m wrong.) That’s the main reason I’m keeping the Noob CG on. Strap notch: I’m no expert what to look for, but this is what it looks like. Movement: Well, this is like day and night. Noob, reliable platinum plated, engraved high-beat movement. Hublot, Crappy old low-beat with stickers (?). This is a no brainer.. Caseback: The engraving is deeper on the Noob. But I think the serial number have a better finish on the H. I read somewhere that the Noob have a sapphire CB while the Hublot have a mineral. Luggs: Again, I’m no expert what is more gen-like for a M series. But You can see the difference here. I forgot to take pics of the lugg screwbars, but they are great on both. Much improved over the 111J from the noob factory. Perfect flush on both sides. Seconds pin: The N have a incorrect white pin on the seconds hand while the H have a correct bare metal. Closing pictures is a comparison between the old Noob 111J (DLC in these pics) and the new Noob 111M for those who wants to know the difference between the old and new Noob. Final word: I’m keeping the Noob as my 111 and send the H-factory case to Avitt for some project

  13. just a confirmation on the movement gents, as I'm still playing catch up: old movement is 6497-2. Not platinum plated, but high beat, engraved new movement is platinum plated 6497 (-1?), but low beat, not engraved Kuvarsit/Sead/Puretime movement is 6497-2 platinum plated, high beat, not engraved I don't understand the platinum plated feature-- is it just for show (because it's "whiter") or does it improve something on the movement? Is it really noticeable (high beat vs low beat) on the seconds movement?

  14. I love mine as well....wears great, easy, comfortable....allthough its the same size as all other ROO´s, it wears smaller due to the combination of grey-is Titanium and the light weight! Theo P.S.: this watch also handles a lot of different straps from rubber to calf to croc...everything is possible.
