  1. I've recently started to research on 6538 big crowns. Why? There were a couple of really great ones at the Rolex Passion Meeting this year. So, I've built one over the last few days... Parts: Silix case -> aged and polished, no sharp edges Stock dial -> aged, relumed and given a tropical look, matte finish Athaya big crown/tube -> Hell, what a pain to make the tube fit the case!!! Clarks T19 -> sanded down to the right height Rafflestimes golden hands -> relumed and aged Inserts slightly faded - pearl removed The tropical look is actually a lot more subtle, but just hard to catch on the camera. It really depends on how the light hits the plexi. Even though I like the look of the watch, it's not for my tiny wrist I hope you like it Full light on the dial - it appears really brown. Next up - A two liner 6538!

  4. Like Diesel, I have limited experience with modern Subs & others can probably identify more problems, but here are some of the more obvious problems with your watch when compared to the genuine Sub Again, YOU must educate yourself about the specific model YOU are interested in. Then, compare each seller's reps to the gen & choose the rep that has the least number of problems that bother YOU.

  5. Hey bud, I'm not going to get into the whole thing but in short you pretty much said it all. The daytonas that come on leather have a built in end link that can't be removed without leaving a gap in the case itself. So, rubber b (which is the company that makes the band in your photo) does make a band for your watch. It's the one in the second pic. When you order a band for your leather daytona make sure it is for the one you have. Like the band in the 3rd pic that will attach to your end links.

  6. OK. I openly admit I know nearly nothing about new models of rolexes. I can spot a whole host of differences between your watch and the genuine artice. In this game you have to train your eye (or not, if you choose not to!) the differences are sometimes very small but to people who are used to looking at these things they are very noticeable. If you can't see them and you're happy with what you have got then great, enjoy, wear it well. However, if you are interested in creating a decent replica and by that I mean something that would be admired by some of the experts you will find on this forum then you have got some work to do. I suspect in your case that you just want a decent watch that will fool most people and there's nothing wrong with that. We are all different. I myself am not interested in fooling people and I take great pleasure in showing a rep watch to people and explaining in great detail the work that has been done and the parts that have gone into the piece but then again I'm a bit of a bore where watches are concerned. So all in all it's up to you, either way enjoy what you have and maybe it will spur you on to other pieces.

  8. Fair play concepta, that is a very selfless thing to do, I know you have got your fair share of criticism at times (rep buyers can be the most impatient, fickle bunch of tiits, no doubt about it) ...but you have always gone out of your way to try to make things right. Many many 'trusted dealers' wouldn't bother their arrsee, controvertial I know, but it is the truth. From the many times I've seen you help out, or sort out an issue with a buyer or mail problem in the past I have to say you are one of the good guys. It is a great gesture and I hope it is appreciated.

  9. Hello as i have informed myself today via google how customs react when they suspect a delivery to be fake, i wanted to ask if there is someone from inside the EU countries, who can reship without that problem. Because there are no controls inside the EU, besides normal drug controls etc from what i understood. When customs seize a packet in germany, they are allowed to open in when they suspect the goods to be fake and then there is too much trouble to make the deal worth buying. Because there are costs you can't really bypass without a lawyer around 200€ for destruction and fees. Is there anyone from inside the EU shipping high quality clothes etc? I don't want to take the risk espacially when they always have the possibility to sue you for much more than 200€
